How long, Yahweh, will you forget me? forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

How long will I bear pain in my life,

grief in my heart day after day?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Pay attention!

Answer me, Yahweh my God.

Give light to my eyes

Lest I fall asleep in death.

Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed,

Lest my foes rejoice because I have stumbled.

 

But as for me--

I have trusted in your unfailing love,

May my heart rejoice in the victory you will give.

I pledge to sing to Yahweh, the one who deals bountifully over me.
